Arriving by ferry in southern Sweden. At 10:00am the water is slick and nearly frozen, so the gentle ripples move in slow motion. The sun is rising, but in January it barely grazes the horizon, and daylight lasts only a few precious hours.

  2. Hello, Ulrich. Ellen introduced us at her studio a few months ago. I am this minute admiring your blog photographs and commentary, particularly this one. I've a blog myself — word pond (http://donnafleischer.wordpress.com/) & have included your Slight Chance of Pixels in the blogroll there. I would very much like to post this arriving . . . photograph on word pond with credits of course and your commentary. May I? warm regards, Donna Fleischer

  3. Donna, I just saw your comment now, I have to figure out a way to get them the day they were posted. Thank you for including my pic in your blog, I'd be honored, and I am trying to include a link of your great blog on my page, Best, Ulrich

  4. Hi, Ulrich. I now realize that the name of your blog influenced a visual poem I recently wrote:

    two asterisks

    * *

    a winter haiku

    For which the poet William Michaelian then wrote:

    Snowflake

    For Donna Fleischer

    snowflake and such is the art of falling

    Your "Slight Chance of Pixels" is as an immense cabinet of wonders to me. And I also love your humor! Will post the above photograph today with delight. (In WordPress blogs such as mine the settings automate blog comments as e-mails. I see no reason why your blog domain would be any different. Good luck with that.) best care, Donna
