Early morning, Rialto, Venice.
Tourists are still sleeping, but workers have been long up, populating the streets and cafes. The pic above seemed innocent enough, but on closer inspection I believe he gave me the evil eye. "Occhio, malocchio, prezzemolo e finocchio", will that cleanse it off? Ever since the movie "Don't Look Now" http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Don%27t_Look_Now I have been attracted to the creepier side of Venice, and if you look, you will find it.

But seriously, of course I just caught a split second glimpse, completely innocent -probably.....
In the meantime, Commissario Brunetti from Donna Leon's books keeps Venice safe, by the way, "Acqua Alta" was yesterday's post, but is also the title of Donna Leon's novel. Great read, but one might want to start with the first in the Brunetti series "Death at La Fenice", and then read all the others.
