July 5th, Manchester, Connecticut. With modern digital cameras it is easy to get great shots of fireworks, but you need a tripod, specific manual settings, and shoot in Raw. The above photo is simply processed from a Raw file, with no other modifications, it is not 'photoshopped'. Overall views of fireworks are beautiful, but once you zoom in, you can get great 'deconstructed' abstract details. I love ephemeral quality of firework photography, everything is random and unique, paintings of colored light trails in the sky.
