The lasso is about to be released, the excess rope is held between the teeth.
The calf is quick on its legs, but no match for the horse's dash. They can't get too close, since there has to be just the right distance to the calf to launch the rope. Once the calf is caught, the rope is quickly attached to the saddle, the cowboy dismounts, and the horse keeps the tension on the rope by inching backwards if necessary.
Now three legs have to be bound together as quickly as possible, the fastest guy wins the 'Tie-Down Roping' event. The calf is definitely not happy.
