'Acqua Alta' in Venice at sunrise,
and only tourists who have to catch an early boat to the airport are there to admire the incomparable spectacle. The combination of water, light, Moorish architecture, soft Veneto dialect, the Trattoria Alla Madonna that hasn't changed in the past 35 years, all make for a uniquely beautiful spot in the world. Venice is very easy on the eyes, and has not changed dramatically since the doges ruled  'La Serenissima' between the seventh and eighteenth centuries.
