(got verdigris?)
Rome is omnipresent in Segovia, or in many parts of Spain for that matter. Rome gave Segovia its aqueduct, and Rome gave Spain its 'Corrida de Toros'. Segovia's streets churches, cathedrals and monuments could make you think you are in Rome -or at least in a distinctly Roman province. By the way, Bavaria was a Roman outpost (even though Munich did not become a city until 1158), and the Italian/Roman influence is today responsible for Bavarians' affinity for Italy, and vice-versa. This is evident also in Bavaria's language where Latin is an important element, and of course Bavaria is about 95% Roman Catholic.
Segovia is a candidate for 2016 European Capital of Culture, and I can see why. They got my vote!
