Ellen Carey, photographer, and Jason Landry, photographer and owner of the Panopticon Gallery, Boston.
The polaroid was taken outside Ellen's and my studio in Hartford to test my vintage Polaroid Land Camera. This is a scan of the 'negative', and it is altered from long washing that caused swelling and wrinkling in some areas, an effect I like very much.

I would call this a frontier photograph, Ulrich, so new in how and what it apprehends of the human demarcation, as if Ellen Carey and Jason Landry had made a visitation from another realm, yet it is this one in which they glimmer so. The photograph evinces. It stabilizes a frontierland between negative and positive. The grids foreshadow, are telepathic. (Would love to procure such a scan for my self. Possible?)
ReplyDeleteI am bringing this to word pond, in exultation, with thanks.
Donna,
ReplyDeletethank you very much for your elucidating comments on the photograph, it's fascinating how some images take on their own life! I'll be very happy to do a polaroid/scan for you, any time!
Oh, please do, Ulrich, at your convenience, and we can make arrangements for me to pick it up and consult about framing. I think I have your email address. Thank you so much.
