The pictures above show the chapel at the Icehotel. Sometimes there are 2 weddings a day during the busy Icehotel season, and apparently most of the couples exchanging vows are British, since there is a direct flight from the U.K. to Kiruna.

If you are in Sweden during the winter, a trip to see the Icehotel in JukkasjÀrvi is a must, it is absolutely spectacular! http://www.icehotel.com/ You can buy a ticket, and tour all the rooms (particularly the artist designed suites) at your leisure until 6pm, at which time the occupants get their orientation, and it closes to the visitors. The Absolut Icebar is of course open to everyone until late night...Some book two rooms for the night, an ice room until body parts start to break off, and then move to a regular room in the adjacent building (with bathroom, etc.). I found that I didn't really need to sleep on a block of ice covered with reindeer hide (sorry, PETA) and a thick sleeping bag. The price for a night in one of the artist designed rooms is also very steep, and I did not feel like spending $700 to see my own breath crystallize. More Icehotel pics to follow. The Icehotel is only about 8 miles or so from Kiruna airport, and the European Space Agency is also just a few miles away. If you want even more excitment, from 2012 on you'll be able to combine your Icehotel stay with a trip into space (buy the ticket at the Icehotel) with Virgin Galactic, no kidding! http://www.icehotel.com/uk/Activities-in-Lapland/Space-travel/
